Footwear operation rules

Footwear is a complex product manufactured using high-tech processes and many materials that may react differently to operation conditions and footwear care. This necessitates consumer information about wearing and care rules for footwear.

Footwear operation procedure

After each wearing, put footwear in order. Clean it from dust and dirt, in case of grease contamination use 1-2% soap solution by applying to footwear with a sponge. This will extend its service life.

Dry wet footwear at room temperature without using heating and heating appliances, heat sources, avoiding direct sunlight and using internal inserts-frames to preserve shape.

Put on only unlaced (unfastened) footwear, use shoehorns - this will help prevent heel seam rupture and preserve footwear shape.

Do not remove footwear unlaced and stepping on heel - this will prevent sole detachment. Do not wear footwear with natural leather sole, as well as with textile upper in rainy weather. Such footwear wetting is not a reason for complaint.

Do not wear footwear on high or thin heels on gravel, crushed stone, cobblestone, as this may lead to footwear damage or injury. Fashion footwear is intended for wearing on even, hard surfaces.

Wearing this footwear in snowy weather may lead to salt and other chemicals settling on its surface, used by utility services to accelerate snow melting. Footwear stains arising from this should not be grounds for manufacturer complaints.

Handle decorative footwear hardware carefully.

Do not overtighten laces on ankle joint to prevent leather and fastening rupture.

HOW TO PROPERLY CHOOSE FOOTWEAR AND CARE FOR IT

How to properly choose footwear

When buying footwear, pay great attention to proper selection of necessary footwear size because in case of footwear and foot size mismatch, problems may arise: on one hand, improper selection threatens foot health, and on the other - this may cause footwear deformation, seam rupture, crack and crease appearance.

When choosing, pay attention to footwear purpose (work, leisure, fashion, everyday, sports, etc.). Heel shape and height should correspond to consumer stature.

First wear footwear briefly so it can adapt to foot shape. For work, wear comfortable, durable footwear on heels 30-40 mm high, considering age. Fashion footwear is intended for short-term wearing for outings; sports footwear - for sports activities.

How to properly care for footwear

Leather footwear

After removing footwear, clean it from dust and dirt with a brush or soft cloth. For footwear to maintain good appearance, not let moisture through and not lose shape for a long time, use quality special footwear care products (cream, dressing, polish, etc.).

Patent leather footwear

This footwear requires special care as it does not tolerate temperatures below zero. Put on footwear 10 minutes before going out to prevent frost damage. Foot heat transfers to footwear, thanks to which it will cool slowly, not immediately. This can prevent crack formation. It is not recommended to wear such footwear at temperatures below -5°C.

After removing footwear, clean it from dust and dirt with a damp soft cloth, then wipe footwear with a dry cloth moistened with vaseline, castor or linseed oil. Wipe patent parts, then quickly rub them with flannel cloth.

Footwear with suede and velour upper

When footwear gets dirty, remove dirt with a special brush or sponge (if necessary, dry footwear naturally), treat footwear with special suede and nubuck cleaning agent. Do not rub footwear surface hard as external fibers may be damaged and material will lose its properties.

Before applying agents, study manufacturer recommendations regarding its operation.

Footwear from artificial materials

Attractive because it maintains pleasant appearance for a long time and is easy to clean. Closed footwear is suitable for wearing in cold and rainy weather.

To clean from dust and dirt after removing footwear, wash with room temperature water and rub to shine with dry soft cloth.

However, it should be considered that artificial leather footwear is less comfortable and hygienic and only special artificial leather is used for it.

Textile footwear

First of all, before starting to care for textile footwear, you need to know what material it is made of. If footwear is made of artificial materials, it can simply be wiped with a damp cloth. But if footwear is made of natural materials such as cotton or linen, certain care rules must be followed:

do not use aggressive detergents that may damage textile

do not dry textile footwear in direct sun or near heat source

if footwear gets dirty, it needs to be hand washed in cool water with mild detergent

after washing, footwear needs to be dried at room temperature

if footwear is very dirty, it's better to contact professionals

Also pay attention to whether there is a mark that manufacturer allows machine washing and in what mode.
